Champions of the Central Zone!

Yippee!  Having had time to reflect, the full impact of Fridays achievement has started to sink in... Yes the magnificent 10 went to represent Suttons at the Central Zone Tag Rugby festival, held at Abbs Cross.  An intense, and freezing, afternoon saw us compete in three matches...

The first match against neighbouring school Scotts, saw a 5-1 win, with Callum suffering an ankle injury within the first 5 seconds, such was their commitment to the cause! The second game was a tough and close battle against Elm Park Primary.  Both sides were closely matched and ended with a fair result of 2-2.  The final game, against Benhurst (runners up 2009) needed a strong finish from the Suttons side if we were to progress onto the finals.  A great finale saw Suttons win their final game 4-2.

Suttons finished the afternoon on top, leading the table and being crowned Central Zone Champions!  Benhurst and Suttons progress onto the Finals to be held in February/March.

Well done to all who took part in training and playing.

Science Museum - 22nd November

After fully recovering from an exhausting day, I thought it might be nice to attach a few photos and videos of our time out today.  Unfortunately it may be a few days before I add an edited video (so come back and check tomorrow), but here's a few to whet your appetite...

On a slight other note... after quite a few conversations today on the train, don't forget Ringo Brown is coming to school next week! (1st December)  Now is a good time to catch-up on all things Neighbours as Ringo is hot news having just fatally been injured, so we are especially priveledged to have booked him so close to his death.  Be warned though... the acting is immense! (I may have let out a small tear tonight watching the drama unfold.)

35 days, 10 hours, 35 minutes, 30 seconds until....

CHRISTMAS TIME
Our minds in year 6 are gradually turning to Christmas, and in an attempt to get in the mood, next Fridays Golden Time will be decorating time!! As it's the last Friday before December, next week we would like children in year 6 to start bringing in any Christmas decorations they have spare.  All decorations used to spruce up the classroom will be donated by you... so your help would be gratefully appreciated.  Lets see if we can make our learning environment, a fun and exciting one.  The theme will be red and gold, if you could stick to these colours it would be good, but not essential!

Thanks in advance... Your children have been a great asset to you in school this week, enjoy your weekend.

Floella Benjamin - Coming to England

How was it year 6?  A real shame I wasn't there, but have heard excellent reports from all the adult and staff helpers that went.  A special thanks to Mrs. Blake for taking the class to meet Floella today.  I look forward to hearing, and reading, your stories about the day.

For now I have posted a couple of photos to prove you actually met her!

Please post a few comments giving your thoughts and reflections on such a fun filled day.  Did it meet your expectations?  Were you suprised by anything?  Did meeting the author enhance your experience of the book?...
